Karen completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) - Dux of Melbourne University (2000) and completed a Polestar Diploma of Pilates. Karen has 23 years experience as a physiotherapist and has a wide array of skills and experience to offer.
Karen is also a qualified Clinical Pilates instructor (Dance Medicine Australia - 2002) and completed the Polestar Diploma of Pilates in 2012. Karen has the ability to expertly assess each patient on an individual basis and create personalised core-stability and exercise based rehabilitation programs to cater for specific patient needs including but not limited to back, hip, pelvis, shoulder, knee and ankle injuries. She enjoys treating a wide range of conditions across the entire lifespan from young children up to the elderly.
Past physiotherapy experience includes working at Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic, The Victorian Institute of Sport, MLC Gymnastics, Rebound Sports Physiotherapy Clinic, Dynamic Stability Physiotherapy and Pilates, The Lion King Theatre Production and The Royal Children's Hospital . Karen spent 2010 working in the USA as a Sports Recovery and Exercise Performance Specialist.
Outside of work, Karen has a great passion for exercise. Her past sporting highlights includes being a scholarship holder for netball at the Victorian Insitute of Sport, playing basketball for the junior Melbourne Tigers and representing Victoria as a junior for both netball and swimming. Karen loves to run and help other people achieve their sporting, exercise and life goals. Her achievements include winning the Melbourne Marathon in 2006 on debut and winning the New Orleans and Denver Marathons in 2010.
